• With international guests
• As an employee or executive for an international subsidiary or headquarters abroad
• As a member of an international team
• etc.
What is intercultural awareness?
Experience it yourself in the following...
What do you see in this picture?
Maybe you recognise:
• A prayer before a meal, two people don’t want to pray
• People who are thinking about a serious problem
• A meeting, two women on the left are talking on their mobile phones
• A serious discussion.A family who has just received a sad letter
• A religious event
• The man in the middle is chairing a debate
• Something completely different
What you see or interpret is:
• Dependant on your personal experience and process of learning
• Dependant on your personal background and therefore highly individual
• Not right or wrong, not good or bad, not true or false
The differences in perception are:
• Smaller within a group belonging to the same culture
• Larger between groups and individuals coming from different cultures
The differences in perception and interpretation of the same event by different cultures could:
• Lead to inefficient communication
• Lead to frustration in the interaction of people
• Cause misunderstandings and lead to conflicts
• Confirm and reinforce prejudices and stereotypes
• May even lead to culture shock
Therefore this workshop is aiming at::
• Increasing awareness of intercultural differences and the resulting styles and methods of doing business
• To get to know the social rules of one‘s own and other cultures
• To recognise and address culturally influenced irritations and disturbances
• To develop alternative behaviours and methods for solving methods
• To prevent misunderstandings and conflicts in intercultural interaction
And ultimately the increase of intercultural awareness on an intellectual and emotional level
This workshop offers:
• The experience of one‘s own as well as the other culture
• To acquire knowledge of the different ways of communication and the underlying values
• To develop alternative ways of behaviour, considering your personal circumstances
With this workshop you have the choice:
• Of either taking part in an open seminar (max. 10 to 15 participants)
• Or booking a workshop exclusively for employees of your company
• Focused on one specific culture or in a multicultural context
• Duration: 1-2 days
